In-Person Worship Begins Sunday, May 2

We are excited to share this news with you! After weeks of preparation, we are looking forward to returning to in-person worship beginning Sunday, May 2! Our first worship services will take place at 9:00AM and 6:00PM each Sunday in the Sanctuary. Our Re-Gathering Task Force, Ministry Teams, and staff have been busy at work getting things in place. We are grateful for all of their work and recommendations.

While our first focus in worship is always giving worship and praise to God, we are also keeping your safety as our utmost priority. Every decision that we have made in preparation for re-gathering is rooted in safety practices that follow the recommendations of the CDC and the North Carolina Synod’s Re-Gathering Team. This means that our worship will look different than we are used to; capacity and social distancing restrictions will be in place, and the wearing of masks will be mandatory.

We know that many of you are excited about attending a worship service, however we ask for your patience as we work with capacity restrictions. We will require a reservation process. Please note that registration for the next Sunday will begin at 8:00 PM the prior Sunday. If you have any questions about the registration process, please contact the church office.

Worship will look a little different than we are used to, but it will remain rooted in our traditions of Word and Sacrament. We ask that you continue to be mindful that some of our current worship practices are temporary until we can fully return to the beauty of our Lutheran liturgy. Please note that elements of worship that we are not able to include in in-person worship will be included in our broadcast version on YouTube. We will continue to provide an on-line option for worship each week.

The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) post should answer most of the questions regarding our return to worship. We are grateful for the many of you who took our return to worship survey and shared questions with us.

Please note, that everything we are doing is temporary; we anticipate that over the course of our summer we will continue to see worship methods adjusted in many ways based on changing conditions and recommendations. We appreciate your patience throughout this process and we are always open to your questions and feedback. Please continue to keep the Augsburg staff, our volunteers, and all who work to share worship in your prayers. We look forward to seeing you when you feel ready to return to worship!
