Gatsby Gala Night

Night of Murder and Mystery to support youth who will be traveling to Houston for the National Youth Gathering.

The evening promises to be a fun night of “Who Done It,” complete with a live program and a dessert reception.

The Roaring 20’s are in full swing, giving birth to the rise of jazz music, flappers and, with the end of the war, a renewed feeling of hope and joviality. It’s the era of prohibition, and organized crime is at an all-time high.

The Half Moon Club is one of just two Speakeasies in town, fighting prohibition by serving alcohol illegally and offering patrons the type of fun that can’t be had when the sun is up. Despite the constant threat of a raid, business at The Half Moon Club is lucrative, as men and women stream through the doors each night.

When a flapper is found shot to death outside the club, the management and loyal patrons of The Half Moon Club scramble to identify the killer before the police catch wind of the killing and shut down the juice joint for good! Join the Youth of Augsburg on April 21 for a Roaring Good Time at the Gatsby Gala. The evening begins at 7:00p with a dessert reception and a night of ‘Who Done It.’ 1920’s dress encouraged but not required.

To join us, please contact the office to confirm your spot. This will help the planning team make sure there are enough desserts to go around. Once you have confirmed, you will receive the secret door code and additional information for your night at the Half Moon Speakeasy!

A Freewill offering will be collected to support the 40 Youth and Adults traveling to Houston, Texas June 26-July 1 for the ELCA Youth Gathering.
